Miriam Shivery Moore Brown

Pioneer • Educator • Visionary
“I viewed teaching, from the very beginning, as assisting boys and girls to acquire those skills which would help them to develop as effective citizens in our society. To me, this meant helping them to master academic skills and to grow in all the facets of development, fully and extensively. Teaching was the preparation, not only of citizens, but of the future leaders of the Negro race.”
